Scattered

Scattered is a Player and Team Modification, first seen in Season β13.

Effects

Players on Teams with the Scattered Modification will not be targeted by Bard Umpires in Solar Eclipse (Gold) Weather. They are also the only players able to receive the Bard Umpire's favor in Solar Eclipse (Gold) Weather.

In Beta

Players became Scattered if they spent 18+ days Elsewhere. Once the Players come back from Elsewhere, they became Scattered. Players who are Scattered would not have their full name. Parts of their name would be missing, and they would regain those letters back over time.

Scattered players were impacted more heavily by Consumers, with the chance to lose twice as many stars as in regular attacks^[1].

Once a Player regained all their letters, they would lose the Scattered modification.

History

Early Expansion Era

The Elsewhere modification was first seen in Season β12, when Flooding Weather first appeared. Scattered, however, was not seen until Season β13, Day 1, when Beasley Day returned from being swept Elsewhere in Season β12 and was Scattered to -easley Day via the following message:

Beasley Day has returned from Elsewhere after one Season!

-easley Day was Scattered...

This would continue throughout the Expansion Era, as some Players continued getting swept Elsewhere for long periods of time and would come back Scattered.

Season 24

During Season β24, Fans had the option to pilot their Teams towards The Desert and The Reader. Once a Team would hit the exact corner of X: -1.00 and Y: -1.00, they would TOUCH DOWN and become Scattered, which not only fully Scattered the Team name, but would fully Scatter the names of all the players on the team, including those in the Shadows. This is the first instance of Scattered being seen as a Team Modification. The following teams would become Scattered:

After the Return(s) of Blaseball, teams that had received Scattered in Season β24 retained it with a new description.
