Samothes Dembélé was a player in the Shadows for the Hawai'i Fridays, and had been with the team since Season β22, Day 86 until Fall Ball.

Official League Records

Dembélé joined the ILB as a lineup player in the Shadows for the Baltimore Crabs as the Crabs' Season β14 Playoff Birth.

During the Season β19 elections, Dembélé's pitching increased from 2.8 → 3.6 and baserunning increased 3.1 → 3.2 as a result of the Fax Numbers and Shadowrun blessings.

On Season β22, Day 86, the The Cookout Thieves' Guild stole Dembélé from the Baltimore Crabs and gave them to the Hawai'i Fridays. On Day 87, Dembélé joined the Fridays' lineup in exchange for Nicholas Mora at Hawai'i Viberight Field via the Ratified Voicemail.

On Season β23, Day 72, Dembélé retreated to the Fridays' Shadows in exchange for Mordecai Kingbird at Hawai'i Viberight Field via the Ratified Voicemail.

Samothes Dembélé is a Black man batting for the Hawai‘i Fridays. He is tall and fat with the build of a strongman, certainly one of the largest and strongest members of the Fridays (a fact which Jacob Winner vehemently denies). Both on and off the field, he often wears dresses, many of them in the traditional Friday’s pattern. He also has a small tattoo of a crab and occasionally sports a bright red crab bucket hat. In order to relax before games, Dembélé has taken up playing fetch with Homer, the loyal companion of teammate Fenry Marlow. He also plays the drums and the theremin and enjoys performing at post-game cookouts. This passion for music serves as a large morale boost for the Fridays, and he has even gotten Stevenson Heat to pick up hir ukulele again for the first time since the Vaulting of James Mora.

Before he was an athlete, Dembélé was a scholar, and still remains one today. Alongside his batting duties, he is also a weather researcher. It was the unique weather of blaseball that originally drew him to the splort, and he currently studies Feedback and Reverb weather. He has also shown great interest in The Microphone and is writing a paper on the Waveback Event. The Cookout’s new LCD Soundsystem often has new modifications or tweaks added to it courtesy of his studies.

Dembélé is also a superstitious person by nature. When asked why he decided to play for the Fridays, he stated he “felt the vibes and the vibes were right” and that “it was where he was supposed to be”. Whenever unexpected changes occur within the team, particularly in the case of Feedback, Dembélé takes up the role of a comforter, encouraging his fellow teammates to look on the bright side and find peace with the natural results of “whichever way the wimd blows”. He also is well known for writing his number on the home plate with his bat before taking his first pitch every game.
