Season Overview

Season 18: Shaking the Dust off

The following summary mixes canon events with community lore.
After returning from the siesta the first thing the team noticed was an immediate change in their teammate Kennedy Loser. His hauntings had slowed down considerably, and finally let him shine both on and off the field. On the other hand Jon Halifax was quick to gain the ire of fans as he stepped in to claim the reward from the ILB’s first ever prize match: A Hot Bat of Stamina, which was useless for pitching with. Luckily that ire didn’t last long as on the 43rd game of the season Parker Meng was able to make her Baltimore pitching debut as Halifax gave up 10 runs in the 9th inning against the Philadelphia Pies.

The peace was not to last though, as in the lateseason the Crabs were “gifted” a replica of an old familiar face, Chorby Soul III. Still unstable, and with two eclipses in the forecast, the Crabs feared for the worst after the death of Luis Acevedo in the previous season. Soul III did not go down quietly though. After a bizarre event where Greer Lott attempted to siphon their blood and improved Soul III’s defense, Soul III batted through the first eclipse game unflinchingly on Day 84, and in the second on day 90 they made it to the 10th inning against the Dallas Steaks before being incinerated by a rogue umpire and being replaced with the fresh faced Zeruel Kramer, batting for the Baltimore Crabs.

The Lovers Celebrating their victory

Elsewhere in the League the Philly Pies were poised to break the Crab's longstanding season win record of 80-19 season, with 80 non-losses as they entered game 97 with a series against the San Francisco Lovers. The Lovers then proceeded to sweep the Pies, resulting in a tie, with the record now shared between them.

The Crabs scrapped their way into the postseason with a three-way tie going into game 99, but despite being knocked out, they put up an admirable showing.

Between eir 2 postseason games, Lorcan came home with an ERA of 0.2, being scored on once by the New York Millennials, and then using Triple Threat to score 0.6 un-runs, and then shutting out the league dominating Philly Pies.

Not to be upstaged, Adalberto Tosser and Kennedy Loser made an impression with their show against the Millennial’s 8.6 star pitcher Castillo Turner, with Tosser holding them to 1 run, and Loser scoring 3 Home Runs in a row with only 4 plate appearances, and the game ending at 3-1 for the Crabs.

Finally in their last victory of the postseason, Parker Meng shut out the Pies right until the last out of the game, but the Crab’s lineup was able to score a total of seven runs against famed pitcher Elvis Figueroa despite the Pie’s Home Field Advantage with Tot Fox, Montgomery Bullock, and Pedro Davids scoring four home runs between them.

Election

In an uncharacteristically quiet election, the Crabs were denied any blessings yet again, but they were no strangers to that. Instead they moved their attention to their Wills, and to their shadows in particular - sending Montgomery Bullock to act as their relief pitcher, and infusing Parker Parra.

With Bullock now poised to take over pitching when they are called, and Parra ready in the wings, the Crabs prepared to step into what was sure to be a highly unusual season.
