Modifications are buffs, debuffs, and statuses added to players and teams, and they last for varying amounts of time. Active modifications are visible on a team's roster window, as well as in a player's bio.
History
Modifications first manifested at the end of Season 4 due to the two chosen decrees: Alternate Reality and Targeted Shame. Alternate Reality applied the Alternate modification to a random hitter and pitcher on each team. Targeted Shame was applied to the top four teams in Season 4: the Chicago Firefighters, New York Millennials, Hades Tigers, and Breckenridge Jazz Hands.
The Reverberating modification first appeared on Day 45 of Season 5. During the San Francisco Lovers and Hawaii Fridays game, reverberations reached dangerous levels and caused Lovers player Don Mitchell to gain the modification.
The Fireproof and Soundproof modifications appeared at the end of Season 5. These were granted on a team-wide basis to the Canada Moist Talkers and Hawaii Fridays respectively. After being granted both a Fireproof Jacket and Noise-Cancelling Headphones, Mclaughlin Scorpler exhibited these modifications. However, due to ILB regulations, Scorpler could only keep one armor piece, choosing to stick with just the Noise-Cancelling Headphones.
The High Filter Decree in the Season 5 Election also ushered in a League shuffle, and each member of the new leagues received a special Blood Bath-related modification. In the Wild League, teams in the High division received Blood Pity, while teams in the Low division were granted Blood Winner. In the Mild League, teams in the High division became Blood Donors, while the teams in the Low division became Blood Thieves.
Duration
Modifications can last for a length of time dictated by its duration type:
- Permanent modifications are never removed automatically.
- Weekly modifications are removed after every 9th game of the Season.
- Season modifications are removed after a single season of the Internet Series ends.
- Armor modifications are removed when the player loses their Armor.
