Personal Life
Nagomi Nava has been with the Hellmouth Sunbeams since the beginning of the ILB, and has quickly made a name for herself thanks to her uncanny improvement over the seasons, and a fan-favorite "all-or-nothing" approach to batting.

Nagomi Nava grew up in Hellmouth, alongside future teammates Emmett Internet and Zack Sanders. Her parents moved to the area just before she was born. Nava received training from her "grandmother" Grandma Nava, and later received psychopomp training from Velasquez Meadows.

Nava has a delicate swing that appears to barely cut through smoke; that is, however, just an illusion, as her swings are known to send even the most unlikely of pitches flying straight out of the park at terrifying speeds—if they make contact.

At some point in Nava's life, an entity took residence in the left side of her face. This entity has come to be known as The Passenger, Friend, or The Entity That Lives In The Left Side of Nagomi Nava's Face. Nava has stated that the entity "is actually pretty chill" and "yeah, its a really good friend of mine".

Her slender frame gives her a smaller-than-normal strike zone that presents a challenge to many pitchers. However, those who have been in close proximity to Nava attest to an unusual phenomenon: Nava's striking personage gives one the intuitive sense of significant events to come, but the warmth of spirit usually found in plenty among Sunbeams players is not just absent, but repulsed. As a result, Nava may sometimes redirect even the most precise throws of skilled pitchers outside her strike zone and walk to first.

During her blaseball career, Nava took to wearing a black ring around her right middle finger. There are multiple accounts of teammate Randall Marijuana stating "It's a cool ring, looks pretty ace," to which Nava responds with ""Yeah, that's the point." One journalist reported hearing this exchange on 5 separate occasions.

After receiving the Precognition blessing at the end of Season 4, Nava's proficiency as a batter increased dramatically. When an unaware reporter pondered about this in earshot of Nava, Nava attributed the buff to a strengthened bond with the entity that lives in the left side of her face. Ever since she was blessed, there have been anecdotal reports of a larger number of spectral eyes emanating from the described spot on Nava's face than is typical. Nava is the only Sunbeam to have seen the future and not fallen victim to a Rogue Umpire—which she attributes to the umpires not wanting to draw the ire of her "friend".
+
Margarito Nava, a player for the Boston Flowers, is her "cousin". At least, that's what Nagomi Nava often announces, especially as she gets up to bat against the Flowers. The Hellmouth Tribune has Nagomi Nava on record shouting: "There is my cousin, Margarito! Xe sure is my cousin, my regular old human person cousin. Related in the normal human cousin way!", while pointing at Margarito in the field with her bat. When a reporter from the Hellmouth Tribune asked if she knew what a cousin was, Nagomi Nava simply stated "what are you, a cop?" and walked away.

Witnesses report seeing Nava wield 8 blaseball bats when up to bat, one for each tentacle, and spinning like a top. This seemingly conflicts with reports that Nava has 2 legs, 2 arms, and 0 tentacles. With the Hellmouth's unique effects, it is hard to verify either claim, but some suspect eldritch powers, citing the eerie atmosphere which made her Lo-Fi streams popular with denizens of the Hellmouth, and how shadows around her seem to move independently from any light sources.

Though Nava plays in the bristling heat of the Hellmouth, she is never seen breaking a sweat. Due to her calm demeanor—uncommon there—her teammates often regard her as the voice of reason on the team. Nagomi is known to spend her free time caring for the cats of the Randall Marijuana Memorial Cat Café, which routinely features music from her own Hellmouth Lo-Fi Radio label. Those nearby swear she smells like bayberries, despite not even the Hellmouth Beautification Society having managed to grow them in the Hellmouth.

Her skills grew further in Season 6, with the Wild Low division rallying together to Share Signs and Move the Mounds Closer.

As of late, teammates and keen-eyed fans have noticed she has taken to wearing a black ring around her right middle finger. As investigators were too intimidated to approach Nava directly on the subject, her fellow team members were consulted. During the interview, Randall Marijuana commented, "It's a cool ring, looks pretty ace," at which point an unnoticed Nava, who had been tying her cleats on the other side of the locker room, called over, "Yeah, that's the point."

In Season 10, Nava gained the Fire Eater modification. She was the first player in the League to eat the flames of a rogue umpire's incineration attempt, and used its powers to become Magmatic and score a home run. Nagomi Nava treasures this gift as a sign of increasingly cousinlike relations, and has been seen occasionally wearing it to the field. When asked, Nava has stated "it is a very kind and thoughtful gift from my good human cousin, Margarito Nava," and "What? Why would I cut off the price tag? That would be incredibly disrespectful to the hat." Some fans have claimed to see smoke rising from the hat's caldera, but investigators have been unable to confirm this rumor.
