Blessings

Blessings are a mechanic through which Fans may improve, modify, or hamper their roster, players, and rival Teams.

Blessings are (usually) revealed at the start of a Season, allowing Fans to spend votes on desired blessings and increase their team's odds of winning said blessing. Blaseball participants may may place votes for the entirety of a season. Recipents of blessings are drawn and announced end of each season (during the Election which takes place after the postseason games).

More participants voting on a particular blessing for their team means that their team is more likely, but not guaranteed, to be awarded said blessing. This dynamic was especially evident in Season β2, when the San Francisco Lovers were awarded with one blessing despite having approximately 0% of that blessing's vote.

During Beta, a team could win multiple blessings (with the exception of Season β11 when Total Fairness was in play). Each blessing was announced and awarded in descending order of win percentage.

In the Coronation Era, each team is able to win a maximum of one blessing per season. As of Season 2, the order in which blessings are drawn appears to be randomized. Once a team wins a blessing, any votes submitted by Fans of that team for subsequent blessings on the ballot become null and void.

Mystery Blessings

After Season 1 blessings were awarded, Umpires Chaff announced two more blessings that "happened at the same time as the regular election but were not officially part of said election." The umpire then stated, "I've added these transactions to the site as public knowledge."

It is unclear if mystery blessings are a regular element of Blaseball; some participants have speculated that one partially-redacted rule in the Book of Blaseball might refer to these mystery blessings.
