Basilio Fig is a lineup player for the Hawai‘i Fridays, and has been with the team since Season 2, Day 40. Fig has previously played for the LA Unlimited Tacos.

Official League Records

Fig joined the ILB as a lineup player for the Hawai‘i Fridays on Season β3, Day 76, after the incineration of Hendricks Rangel.

Fig suffered an allergic peanut reaction while batting against the Yellowstone Magic on Season 4, Day 24, dropping Fig from an overall rating of to .

On Season β4, Day 82, Fig was exchanged to the Unlimited Tacos due to Feedback. Fig was replaced by Baldwin Breadwinner.

On Season β7, Day 29, Fig siphoned some of Charleston Shoe Thieves lineup player Lachlan Shelton's baserunning ability in a game with Blooddrain weather.

During the Season β9 election, Fig received the Fire Eater modification due to the passing of the Forecast: Eclipse decree.

During the Coffee Cup, Fig played for Royal PoS as a lineup player.

On Season β17, Day 14, Fig was   in a game with Peanut weather by Tokyo Lift pitcher Alejandro Leaf.

During the Season β17 elections, Fig's Magmatic modification was changed to the Unstable modification as a result of the Tacos' Reform will.

On Season β19, Day 3, Fig was freed from their shell by birds.

On Season 2, Day 40, Fig fell to the Hawai‘i Fridays during a game in Horizon weather, hitting Mags Highlife and taking their place on the lineup.

History

Background

After the incineration (and some would argue return to the ether) of Hendricks Rangel, Basilio Fig stepped onto the field. As a sentient palm tree growing near one of the Fridays' most frequented playing spots, Fig had already been a fan of blaseball for quite some time. At the very moment that Rangel's physical form released, Our Lady of Perpetual Friday graced Fig with a renewed vigor in their roots, allowing them to stride across the field and join the Fridays.

Eyewitnesses say that each time Fig steps up to bat time seems to slow. In that instant a pair of muscular arms grow from their barklike torso allowing them to swing their bat.

Fig is close friends with a family of toucans that were blown into their upper branches by a passing storm. Fridays player Fletcher Yamamoto can be found nesting with Fig on their days off together.

Career as a Taco

Fig settled quickly in the infinite Los Angeli, helped in part by the similarly tropical climate. They found a new home on Figueroa Street, which is now and has always been named for them. Fellow Tacos teammate Basilio Mason has yet to comment on no longer being the only Basilio on the team, but Fig expressed that they were "happy to be a part of the Tacos name sharing tradition."

Fig Feelings

Fig is most notable for appearing to be a small palm tree (by palm tree standards, as they are currently the second tallest member of the Unlimited Tacos). When idle, they appear to be growing from whatever surface they're standing on, distinguishable primarily by the sunglasses perched midway up the trunk.

As a team member, Fig is often quiet, typically choosing not to speak unless prompted. When they do speak, it is a low, hollow resonance that often has a hard time carrying across a loud blaseball field. Their sunglasses are worn both to convey their laid back nature, and to make others comfortable at Fig's relative lack of facial expressivity which is sometimes otherwise read as uncaring. Close teammates have come to understand their unique mannerisms, such as physical closeness, which is a sign of friendship and affection, and extra motion of their palm fronds, which signals excitement or anxiety.

Fig spends a lot of time wandering the shorelines of each Los Angeli, observing the changes in the waves and the sand as they cross into each parallel city. They typically do this alone, and other teammates report them as content with this. At times, Mcdowell Mason has been seen accompanying Fig in these long slow journeys.

Other players on the Tacos who are reported as being close include Valentine Games, who finds Fig an appreciative audience for their freeform poetry, and Wyatt Dovenpart, who regales Fig with wandering descriptions of shows they've watched and stories they've read.

Return to the Fridays

In Season 2, Fig was burped out of the Black Hole(Black Hole) and collided with Fridays batter Mags Highlife. After apologizing somberly, they took up the bat, back on their original team and in their native home after a long time. They remain a poor cook and an excited skateboarder.
