Official League Records

Anice joined the ILB as a pitcher for the Core Mechanics during the Descension. However, before seeing any active play, Anice was swapped with PolkaDot Patterson on the Canada Moist Talkers due to the Plunder will in the Season β12 Elections.

On Season β13, Day 41, Anice was exchanged to the Philly Pies due to Feedback. Anice was replaced by Bright Zimmerman.

During the Season β15 elections, Anice retreated to the Pies' Shadows in exchange for Tiana Takahashi as a result of the Pies' Foreshadow will, resulting in a combined 13.8 → 14.3 stat increase.

During the Season β19 elections, Anice's batting increased from 3.1 → 4.4 as a result of the Pies' Shadow Infuse will.

During the Season β20 elections, Anice rejoined the Pies' lineup in exchange for Usurper Violet as a result of the Pies' Roster Swap will.

On Season β22, Day 36, Anice retreated to the Pies' Shadows in exchange for Beans McBlase at Tastycake Stadium via the Ratified Voicemail. On Day 58, Anice rejoined the Pies' lineup in exchange for Peanut Holloway.

On Season 2, Day 41, Anice fell to the Moab Hellmouth Sunbeams during a game in Horizon weather, becoming Buried.

Personal History

Doc Anice is a pitcher and head pibrarian for the Philly Pies. Anice uses doc/doc/docs pronouns.

Despite docs name, Anice is not a medical doctor but doc does have PhDs in library science and education administration. Doc began to play blaseball in docs mid-30s as a way to relieve stress while working towards docs 2nd doctoral degree. Anice found that doc was more passionate about blaseball than either of docs doctoral subjects and after finishing the program decided to pursue a career in splorts.

Anice tried out for the Core Mechanics and was signed to the team as a pitcher. Over the next two decades Anice had a storied career playing with the Mechanics in the REDACTED League. After doc REDACTED​​​​​​ became a fan favorite, before REDACTED​​​​​​ in the blood wave REDACTED​​​​​​​​. This caused REDACTED​​​​​​​​ embraced the dark REDACTED​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ and multiple dragons. Shortly after winning their third championship, Anice and the other Mechanics descended to the Internet Blaseball League.

Philly Pies

After a brief stint with the Canada Moist Talkers, Anice was traded to the Philly Pies to replace the odious Bright Zimmerman. Pies GM Sam Hinkie had heard about docs library science doctorate and specifically recruited Anice to help manage the Pibrary. This sprawling library underneath Tastykake Stadium is believed to contain every pie recipe ever made, from the sacred to the profane. However the ever increasing recipe piles had begun giving off some funky arcane energies. Since only someone with Anice’s library science expertise could hope to last more than a few hours in the pibrary without going mad, doc was appointed head pibrarian and tasked with leading its re-organization.

Anice has taken on something of a grandmotherly role to the Pies team, and is always ready to offer blaseball advice picked up over docs long career. When not pitching, doc spends docs time trying to capture the Philadelphia Philling, as the pies mascot keeps knocking over recipe stacks while skipping through the pibrary. Anice has been setting increasingly intricate traps to capture the Philling but so far the wily pastry has managed to elude docs grasp.

Anice is 55 years-old and suffers chronic pain from a locomotor disability. As a result doc frequently uses a wheelchair to get around and pitches from one on the mound. While playing blaseball, Anice uses the number 51, which was Doc Hudson’s number in the Pixar film Cars as well as the number of Federalist Papers that Alexander Hamilton wrote. As a hobby, Anice makes docs own homemade licorice which doc is always offering to docs fellow teammates. The licorice tastes terrible but doc is too nice to say no to.

Into the Shadows

At the end of Season 15, Anice having grown frustrated with pitching 40% of the Pies games decided to take a sabbatical from Blaseball and focus on research. Switching with Takahashi, Anice became the Pies full time head pibrarian managing the pibrary and all the horrors within. Anice can still be seen at practice, improving doc’s pitching and batting. Anice is satisfied with Pibrary management and research, but doc does want to return to Blaseball for the thrill of the splort and "to avoid the Philling’s secret recipes".
