Rivers Rosa is a player in the Shadows for the LA Unlimited Tacos, and has been with the team since Season 22, Day 94. Rosa has previously played for the Chicago Firefighters and Ohio Worms

Official League Record

Rosa joined the ILB as a lineup player for the Chicago Firefighters with the Return of Blaseball.

On Season 5, Day 30, Rosa became a pitcher due to Reverb.

During the Season 5 elections, Rosa's defense rating increased by as a result of the Katamari blessing.

During the Coffee Cup, Rosa played for FWXBC as a lineup player.

During the Season 12 elections, Rosa's pitching was boosted 2.8 → 3.4 as a result of the Tag Team Pitching blessing.

On Season 14, Day 67, Rosa was exchanged to the Ohio Worms due to Feedback. Rosa was replaced by NaN.

During Season 18, Rosa was attacked by Consumers three times.

During the Season 20 elections, Rosa retreated to the Shadows in exchange for Xandra Pancakes as a result of the Worms' Foreshadow will. Rosa was then sent from the Worms' shadows back to the Worms' Shadows as a result of the Worms' Move will.

During the Season 21 elections, Rosa's defense was increased from 2.3 → 3.7 as a result of the Worms' Shadow Infuse will.

On Season 22, Day 94, the LA Taquería Thieves' Guild stole Rosa from the Ohio Worms and gave them to the LA Unlimited Tacos.

Personal Life

Rivers Rosa was born and raised in Boquete, Chiriquí in Panama before moving to Chicago, Illinois for college, pursuing a degree in Fire Science. She played for her high school sloftball team as well as her college intramural team, her only splorting experience prior to the return of Internet League Blaseball.

Career with the Firefighters

On Season 2, Day 54, in a post-game interview following an home game against the LA Unlimited Tacos, Rosa elaborated on her stance towards the splort of Blaseball. When asked why she attempted to steal third base despite the Fighters being up by 15 runs, Rosa claimed that "Blaseball is awful, and I hate playing it. I hate that I am forced to step onto the field every day and play this horrible splort. The only enjoyment I get from blaseball is crushing my opponents, and making them feel the same pain as me."

During her time with the Firefighters, her old teammates had dyed her green every season. Why the color green was used remains a mystery.

Rosa "pitches" by tossing a blaseball up into the air and swinging at it with her blaseball axe, hitting a line drive towards the plate. When asked why she chose this unusual pitching style in a post-game interview, Rosa claimed that it was fueled by "spite." Having been trained as a batter and not actually knowing how to pitch a blaseball is, apparently, a secondary concern.

Rosa is considered a trans icon and a State fielder.

Like all of us, she is from Chicago. Her jersey number is 331.

Career with the Worms

After the Season 14 feedback game that had switched her to the Ohio Worms in exchange for NaN, Rosa had found herself preoccupied with the Cuyahoga River Fires. After the season, she had formally requested a departmental transfer to combat the fires. Since then, Rosa has been requesting her old Firehouse to come down during the off-seasons for assistance.

Shortly after her transfer, Rosa also had collaborated with Museum staff to outline and enforce more efficient safety protocols.

Cantus Hojo and Farrell Seagull quickly befriended Rosa as the new pitcher of the team. Rosa can often be found in Hojo’s gardens to meet the critter-like plants Hojo grows. Seagull regularly drags Rosa onto adventures to explore Ohio's mysteries.

Although the feedback had been unexpected and shocking, Rosa has grown to begrudgingly love Ohio after her new teammates started sharing their beloved places with her. However, she won't admit this to anybody who asks.

Trivia

  • Rosa and formerly-fellow batter Lou Roseheart were often known as "the twin roses of Chicago” for their impeccable on-field dynamic.
  • Despite claiming to be a "regular person," Rosa appears to possess a tapetum lucidum, the retroreflective layer of the eye that often appears red under direct light. This gives her the constant appearance of someone in a dark room whose photo was just taken with the flash on.
