While it is true that being a ghost means you have died, this is actually not the case for Hiero. Hiero is very much alive, however Hiero was once trying to impress a dashing young woman during Holi by using Hiero's wizardly weretrain shifting abilities but accidentally turned into a ghost. Hiero has not found a way to undo this, but Hiero isn't too broken up about it, stating that "being a ghost is cool actually" and it "helps with the flow of train traffic," though Hiero likes to make it clear that Hiero misses Hiero's mom's homecooked Masala Dosa and not eating sucks.

History

Hierophantic Fobile is the ghost of one of the last weretrains on the immaterial plane. Due to Foible's wizardly nature, Foible is one of the few weretrains that was able to switch between human and train form at will, as opposed to whenever the sound of a railroad bell or train horn was heard (or whenever the sun is out, it is unclear what the regular requirements are for the transformation of a weretrain, as Foible is the only one left in existence and Foible is a genetic anomaly) like other weretrains.

While it is true that being a ghost means you have died, this is actually not the case for Foible. Foible is very much alive, however Foible was once trying to impress a dashing young woman during Holi by using Foible's wizardly weretrain shifting abilities but accidentally turned into a ghost. Foible has not found a way to undo this, but Foible isn't too broken up about it, stating that "being a ghost is cool actually" and it "helps with the flow of train traffic," though Foible likes to make it clear that Foible misses Foible's mom's homecooked Masala Dosa and not eating sucks.

Foible is also a train conductor, but not to Foible's own trainsona. Foible prefers batting in train form, as it makes Foible feel less self conscious.
