COMMUNITY REPORTS
The remainder of this article contains lore created collaboratively by the Blaseball community.

History

Alvarado is a mime, and subsequently their bat, balls, and catching gloves are also mimed. These items can interact with other objects as if they had tangible form and are capable of creating sound. Alvarado will often throw a mimed rope around an opponent player, a tactic the Umpiress have tried (and failed) to punish. However for all practical purposes these objects are not real.

Alvarado's favored walk-up music is the second movement of 4′33″, a classical piece by American composer John Cage.

Grey’s Anatomy

Alvarado has never been seen eating real food, only mimed food between at-bats. They frequently mime getting peanuts from the peanut vendor, followed by miming an allergic reaction and stabbing themselves with a mime epi-pen. Fans speculate that Alvarado is sustained by the unreal forces that surround them, devouring the essence of imagination. Fans in close proximity to Alvarado report having much fewer dreams in the days following contact.
