Bugsnax introduced [[Nepenthe Saracen]] to the team as a pitching coach around ten days after joining the team as a player. While xe claims to have no ulterior motive for doing so, Gloria often seems to enjoy it when Nepenthe manages to get [[Beck Whitney]] to take a break from coaching. Bugsnax, Saracen, and Lotus have been observed to share knowledge with each other without any noticeable external communication.

Gloria jumps out of xyr flowerpot to xyr team's shocked reactions, holding the Weird Flex aloft
Gloria emerges fully-formed from xyr flowerpot, by @blockmechanics

Gloria Bugsnax was the Flowers' team pet, a venus flytrap carried to away games and kept in the dugout. Xe appeared to be a perfectly normal plant until Matheo Carpenter was incinerated and the Weird Flex went flying. Catching it, Bugsnax emerged as a fully formed Blaseball Player through sheer force of willpower, taking Carpenter's place at the plate and shocking xyr new teammates.

While some have speculated about a connection between Bugsnax and Caligula Lotus, they firmly insist they are not related in the slightest. Theories about the Boston Garden's propensity to grow blaseball-playing plants abound, but not much is known. What is notable is that unlike Lotus, who sprung up from the ground itself, Bugsnax was the team's pet plant long before xe joined the team.

The Many Faces of Gloria Bugsnax

According to the Interdimensional Rumor Mill, some things never change, even across dimensions. Someone, somewhere, decided to catalog all the different versions of Gloria Bugsnax in a Rumor Registry, but today the version from IF-18.253 is playing. Here’s what the rumors say...

Despite Bugsnax’s friendly past with the team, xe was overwhelmed by xyr transformation and had difficulty relating to xyr teammates. Xe was no longer able to reenter the pot where xe had grown up and was distraught by this, as well as by the death of Matheo Carpenter, who had raised xem.

Xe eventually found solace with the Baltimore Crabs, especially Pedro Davids, whose studies of carcinization and bodily transformation made him a good confidant for Bugsnax. His friendship proved essential in helping Bugsnax adjust.

In his attempts to find Bugsnax a hobby, Davids gave xem a camera as a gift. Bugsnax became an avid hobbyist photographer specializing in architectural photography. Xe occasionally takes promotional photos of businesses run by other blaseball players, such as Eizabeth Guerra’s bakery and Margaritoville. In lieu of payment, xe asks for food.

Bugsnax is autistic and, being a flytrap, has little knowledge of or regard for conversational norms. Xe has an array of stim toys, including a special exercise ball inside Margaritoville that xe sits and bounces on instead of using a chair. After stealing the Chorby’s Soul, Bugsnax went on the record as saying xe thought it was a stim toy. When asked if xe normally stole stim toys, xe refused to comment.

Bugsnax is close with Margarito Nava, and occasionally helps with the onboarding and training of new recruits. This role led to xem being the first to befriend B.D. Rolsenthal when vi joined the team. Bugsnax and Rolsenthal’s relationship has been subject to no small amount of media speculation, ranging from a secret marriage to queerplatonic partners to a normal pair of roommates; both of them refuse to comment. Bugsnax is also still close with Pedro Davids.
