History

Born with only a left ear, somehow his disability has made him more powerful. Winkler claims that he can monophonically hear which type of pitch is being thrown. However, he can also hear his hecklers twice as well, and rival teams use this to their advantage when he steps up to the plate.

When asked his thoughts about the incineration incident that led to his inclusion in the team, Winkler has only said that he "heard it coming."
