Neerie McCloud is a lineup player for the Core Mechanics and has been with the team since Fall Ball. McCloud has previously played for the Atlantis Georgias.

Official League Records

McCloud joined the ILB as a lineup player for the Atlantis Georgias during the Descension.

During the Season β13 elections, McCloud retreated to the Georgias' Shadows in exchange for Slosh Truk as a result of the Georgias' Foreshadow will, resulting in a combined 8.6 → 9.4 stat increase.

During the Season β19 elections, McCloud's batting increased from 2.2 → 3.4 as a result of the Georgias' Shadow Infuse will.

During the Season β20 elections, McCloud's star ratings were completely randomized as a result of the Shots in the Dark blessing, resulting in McCloud becoming an Alternate, gaining the Negative modification, and a combined 10.6 → 10.7 stat increase.

On Season β23, Day 92, McCloud joined the Georgias' lineup in exchange for Lachlan Shelton at The Atlantean Dome via the Ratified Voicemail.

McCloud ended the Expansion Era with 4.3 in Batting, 2.1 in Pitching, 2.3 in Baserunning, and 3.8 in Defense. McCloud had a Mesh Jersey of Vitality, Hot Sunglasses and the Alternate, Negative, and Scattered modifications.

During the December 16, 2022 Fall Ball, McCloud fell to the Core Mechanics. On Season 1, Day 1 of the Return(s), McCloud became a lineup player for the Mechanics.

During Season 2, Day 62 a Mage Umpire called McClouds Alternate during Solar Eclipse (Red) Weather.

Box of Neerie McCloud Files

Dust billows as the file box lands on the table. While many archives in the Interdimensional Rumor Mill are unified in some way, this... definitely isn’t one of them. Appearance and Personality

Neerie McCloud is a lightweight sky nymph with brown skin and freckles. Her hair is composed of clouds and billows out around their head, changing colors with her mood. When they were a human, her appearance was more subdued, with simple brown hair.  She also has a Scottish accent. McCloud is one of the most energetic players on the Georgias, having been known to shout insults at the opposing team before games. She’s quick to speak her mind, always ready for a playful argument, and good at making friends.

Journey to Atlantis

McCloud was born in the late 1800s and grew up in a simple family. Her lifelong dream was to build an airplane of her own and to discover what awaited her out in the world. However, in the early 1900s, the maiden voyage of her aircraft ended in disaster when it crash-landed in the Atlantic Ocean, and they were pronounced dead. Indeed, McCloud almost drowned within the ocean’s depths, but she was rescued by Georgias player Siobhan Chark and brought back to Atlantis to recuperate. As she healed, Atlantis’ power affected her, as it does to all who enter that realm, and she began to transform into a fae-like being. After their full recovery, they decided to put their skills into use as a member of the resident Blaseball team. She eventually formed a close relationship with Chark and fellow teammate Mint Shupe, and they became a notorious trio among the team.

Time Elsewhere and Alternation

After Atlantis’ entry to the ILB, McCloud played as a batter until Season 13, Day 84, when she was swept away to Elsewhere. The Season 13 elections resulted in her being sent to the shadows, which meant that she was indefinitely unable to return. Thus, the campaign to bring them back has persisted among Georgias fans since that election. During this time, McCloud temporarily took over leadership of the Elsewhere Wlaffle House™, welcoming every player to be swept to Elsewhere and eventually returned. Her relationship with Knight Triumphant is of note here, as Knight was both Elsewhere and in the shadows of the Georgias at the time. Although Triumphant was returned to play before McCloud , they reignited her desire for adventure, and she began venturing further and further into Elsewhere in an attempt to discover a way back, whatever answers hide there, and/or simply to map the region.

They were infused in the Season 19 elections, giving her more batting power, and in the Season 20 elections, she was Alternated into a Negative. However, that Alternation was simply the moment all of the time in Elsewhere caught up with her. Being trapped within the immateria for 7 seasons had changed them permanently, and from that point forward, she now carried wisps of immateria within her hair and her mind. Elsewhere is a part of her, and she’s a part of it. However, McCloud returned to the Georgias on Season 23, Day 97.

Trivia

  • Several versions of McCloud have prosthetic legs, varying from coral to metal to water, although in some universes she’s an amputee and in some she’s had prosthetics for their whole life.
  • Despite their enthusiasm for Blaseball, McCloud is actually not very good at the splort.
  • Aside from her friends, the thing McCloud misses most about Atlantis is the regional drink, Ooze.
  • After spending so much time operating the Elsewhere Wlaffle House™, McCloud has incredibly strong opinions on breakfast food. Additionally, it now exerts some influence over her mind, and she has flashbacks to operating the restaurant regularly.
