Pre-History I is the second volume in The Library, and was added alongside Root, Pre-History II, Bridge, and Discipline in Season 18. It contains 20 chapters, 14 of which have been unveiled. The first chapter to be revealed was "The First Day, 1st Edition" on May 10, 2021 during Season 18.

Volume Summary

Pre-history I details Blaseball's first known League, Ultra League Blaseball, which would go on to become Internet League Blaseball as an effect of the CO-OP Decree.[1] In particular, it focuses on Players Parker MacMillan and Megan Ito. During Pre-History I, Parker MacMillan would become Hexed with the  Firewalker Modification,[1] inflict Instability across the league (moving through the  Super Roamin' Modification),[2] and eventually be contained by the Mallorca Whales using The Force Field.[2] Following this,  Trader and  Traitor Megan Ito freed Parker by trading their Metaphorical Sunglasses for Parker's Force Field, indirectly leading to Megan's incineration when Parker left their Team, the Minneapolis Truckers, Unstable. When The Force Field prevented Megan from entering the Hall of Flame after this, they became caught in a state of Superposition between life and death, eventually resulting in them echoing into  Static and being replaced by New Megan Ito.[3] Ultimately, Parker would go on to become  Legendary through unknown means, leaving the League to enter The Vault, and therefore making every Team Unstable. This resulted in an early snap Election where the Reset Decree was passed, ending Pre-History I.[4] Additonally, Pre-History I also saw the first mention of Namerifeht.[5]

An Exile

A Traitor

A Walk

An Alternate

Summary

An Alternate details Megan Ito's echoing into  Static following the events of Parker MacMillan's release from The Force Field by Megan in A Traitor. After Parker left the Minneapolis Truckers  Unstable, they — including Megan — would be Incinerated by a Rogue Umpire. However, as Megan had taken The Force Field from Parker during A Traitor, she could neither leave her current location due to the  Force Modification nor stay there due to being Incinerated. This lead to a Paradox which would result in Megan Echoing herself before dropping the The Force Field through unknown means and becoming Static. Megan's Alternate would then be called in the form of New Megan Ito, who would then join the Trucker's replacement team, the Boulders Bay Birds. Whilst this was the first recorded instance of an Alternate, it conflicted with future Alternations after The Return where Alternates bared the exact same name as their predecessor and were not visibly present beside them, whereas both Megan Ito and New Megan Ito had separate player profiles on Blaseball.com. An Alternate was revealed on June 24, 2021.
