Whereas in The [[Expansion Era]] there was only one Belt, during Gamma 4 every participating Team started the Season in the possession of their own Belt. As a result, Teams had the possibility to be both Defenders ''and'' opponents during a given game. Futhermore, Teams could amass multiple Belts, and if a Team defeated another participant in posession of multiple Belts, all of these belts would be transferred. This eventually lead to the majority of Belts being possessed by an increasingly smaller number of participating of Teams.
