Since they have not yet returned to whatever headquarters they may have been issued from, and assuming that they are totally loyal to the Spies is, in the words of Spies player Alexandria Rosales, "a fool's gambit", speculation has ensued that Bailey has gone native, eschewing their original employer out of emotional attachment to their new team. However, this line of thinking may prove to be equally dangerous, since it has not been conclusively proven that Bailey is capable of love.

Donia Bailey is referred to in all official documents relating to the Houston Spies as a double agent. It is generally agreed that one of the entities for which they are an agent is the Spies, where they play as a pitcher. There is no general consensus on whether the Spies are their primary employer or the victim of their double crossing. It is even less clear what other organisation they may be an agent for, since on a surface level their activities do not appear to be especially helpful to anyone, let alone a rival team.

Bailey has been asked about this issue in several interviews, but always pretends not to have heard the question. It's really annoying.

Disappearance

Toward the end of season 6, Donia Bailey vanished from the Spies lineup and promotional material. Mysteriously enough, this disappearance aligns perfectly with the appearance of Evelton McBlase II. Some theorize that Bailey is related in some way to the bizarre doppelganger. When asked, a representative from the Spies placed a small strip of blank, tear-soaked printer paper on the table and left the building.
