Joshua Watson is a lineup player for the Chicago Firefighters. Watson joined the Firefighters in a trade for Axel Trololol due to the Baltimore Crabs winning the The Plan? Pitch from the Plate blessing during the Season 5 election.

Official League Records

Watson joined the league at the beginning of Season 1 with the Baltimore Crabs.

During the Season 5 election, Watson received a boost to his overall rating as well as baserunning and defense due to the Baltimore Crabs' Horde Hallucinations and Rollback Netcode blessings, as well as the Chicago Firefighters' Katamari blessing after the Trololol trade.

History

COMMUNITY REPORTS
The remainder of this article contains lore created collaboratively by the Blaseball community.

Watson was found dead in an elementary school in the year 2004. They resurrected themself in 2013, and have been playing for the Crabs ever since.

Personal life

Watson lives under the boardwalk in Ocean City, where he is the mayor.

When asked to comment on their miraculous return to the blaseball pitch, Watson began to cry orange juice. Fans have interpreted this as perhaps a declaration of dislike for the Kansas City Breath Mints, but Watson has not confirmed this speculation.

Since resurrecting themself, Watson has only been able to consume five things; oyster crackers, boardwalk fries, Rita's Italian Ice, Natty Boh, and anything that has a ratio of 1:100 for item:Old Bay.

Political career

Watson became the mayor of Ocean City in 2014. As mayor they personally disbanded the police, citing the former police chief's hatred of crabs as a major factor in said disbandment.

Controversies

Immediately after assuming the post of mayor, Watson punched Ocean City's then-police chief on live television. Watson has gone on record saying, "I do not regret it, I will not apologize."

In XX5, Watson was sued by the Ocean City Hermit Crab Vendors' Union for stealing an unknown number of hermit crabs. It was speculated that this was accomplished by coming up through the cracks in the boardwalk. Watson won the lawsuit and continues to deny these allegations, although he refuses to explain where their hundreds of hermit crabs come from.

In Literature

Runolfio Peeper wrote the following poem, which was read at Watson's second inauguration as mayor:

Joshua Watson, beloved Mayor
Dead for seven years
And brought back by a prayer

Shed orange juice for tears
Returning to the field
Embraced by all their peers

Now they're usually concealed
Below the boardwalk’s entry
A neighborhood well-heeled

They live with the crabby gentry

Cheers

  • "What, son?! Watson!"
  • When Watson runs to a base, Crabs fans have been known to informatively chant, "Wat's on first/second/third!"
  • "Elementary? My dear Watson!" - A reference to Watson's earlier death.
