Official League Records

Aster joined the ILB as a player in the Shadows for the Hawai'i Fridays as the Fridays' Season β22 Underbracket Playoff Birth.

During the Season β22 elections, Aster's star ratings were completely randomized as a result of the Shadow Alternate Trust blessing, resulting in Aster becoming an Alternate and gaining the Negative modification.

During the November 18, 2022 Fall Ball, Aster fell to the Ohio Worms.

During the Season 2 elections, Aster was incinerated as a result of the Rogue Strike blessing and replaced by Luis Baron.

Box of Johnnyboy Aster Files

Dust billows as the file box lands on the table. While many archives in the Interdimensional Rumor Mill are unified in some way, this... definitely isn’t one of them. The accompanying Rumor Registry explains all of the contents... wherever it is... but for now you grab the folder labelled IF-82.306 and start reading...

Johnnyboy Aster (him/they) began as a backup player for the Neohio Wyrms, while occasionally popping over to visit the Fridays’ Shadows. During Fall Ball, Johnnyboy surreptitiously swapped places with the Worms’ intended Fall, sending that undisclosed (and unsuspecting) player through to Neohio. Johnnyboy then staged a convincing landing and was greeted by NaN and friends as the intended Fall.

Johnnyboy has a unique relationship with light and color. Colors seems to slip away from them, leaving a dull grayscale across most of their body and clothing. However, the colors collect in a rainbow at their edge, forming a neon outline. Johnnyboy leans into this striking contrast. He wields a glowstick-type bat and wears a neon-brimmed, 80s-style hat (nb: either 1980s or 1880s, depends on the day).

Johnnyboy is a chosen name, carefully selected to be a funny, cringe, but compelling drag persona. In rare moments of privacy and introspection, they sometimes will ask close friends to call them Aster. The vast majority of the time, however, they are a brash and flashy personality. Johnnyboy is transmasc/nonbinary.

Johnnyboy can often be seen rollerblading, both around the ballpark and at the rink. When performing, he wears an oversized lab coat with MANY pockets. Aster has a secretive science background, which he deliberately avoids sharing with all but his closest friends. When prodded, Johnnyboy admits he is smugly proud of his intuitive grasp of technology and the world around him: “What can I say? I’m good at what I do, and I do whatever I want.” The Worms love to have them as a teammate, not only for his vocal support of his teammates, but also for his role as a de facto nightlight when the black hole gets really dark.

The Ohio Worms are totally unaware that, while playing for Neohio, Johnnyboy was physically a highland pangolin – a type of horned pangolin only known to be native to the pocket dimension. Johnnyboy still grapples with this dual version of being. During Blacklight, Johnnyboy returns to this pangolin form… but none of his teammates know (yet) that this Blacklight Aster is such an important part of his current identity.
