Appearance

Matteo Cash is a humanoid magpie-jay, and is similar in appearance to an Aarakocra. He has no arms and no legs, but does possess wings. When Cash is nervous, his wings grow, which can be helpful in holding a bat. His blacklight appearance features gold accents, which distract him in his constant hunt for shiny things. Due to Cash’s status as a cross of a human and a bird, he is shorter than the average human. This height is sometimes jokingly referred to as “fun sized”, referencing Cash’s friendly nature. He can often be seen wearing shiny makeup and clothes he deems pretty. His fashion sense is immaculate, despite some difficulties in finding clothing that fits him.

Personality and Traits

Matteo Cash uses he/him pronouns. He has been described by fans as “very gender”, pointing to his being gender non-conforming. Despite his friendliness, he has a rather timid personality, going so far as to hit balls softer to “not be mean”. Cash also has anxiety, as well as stimming behaviors, these traits are displayed in the growth of his feathers. He is always looking to bring fun to Blaseball. He is a friend to all, and always makes sure everyone has a good time.

Cash is known to get easily sidetracked. Conversations about one of his passions will often lead to an outburst about another. His greatest passion is astronomy. He loves the shininess of the stars, and frequently views them through his old brass telescope. Using this telescope, he will spend the times leading up to games considering Hermetic philosophy, leading to his pre-game ritual of “Hermetics”. As a philosopher and astronomer, Cash will often look at the stars and create his own constellations. His love of the stars also spreads to the rest of his life, as he is obsessed with shiny things, and often collects and wears any shiny things he can find.
