Internet Series
The Internet Series is an annual championship series of Internet League Blaseball, between the champions of each league in every Season. It is the final event of the Blaseball postseason.
The winner of the Internet Series is determined in a first-to-three-wins playoff, with the winning team being awarded ████████. The team with the most championship wins are the Baltimore Crabs with four.
History
Prehistory
According to the Library, the inaugural Internet Series was won by the Baltimore Crabs in Season B during the Pre-history I era.
Modern Blaseball
The modern Internet Series' determined winners in a best-of-five-or-first-to-three playoff until Season 11. The introduction of Black Hole and Sun 2 weather made it possible for teams to have an equal number of wins after five games, so best-of-five winning condition was removed.
Since the Season 8 elections when the Wild Cards decree was passed, a fifth team was chosen at random to play the fourth-ranked team in a first-to-two Wild Card series at the start of each postseason. Season 15 marked the first time a Wild Card pick would clear the postseason and participate in the Internet Series, when the Mexico City Wild Wings wild carded into the Wild League, defeated the Unlimited Tacos, Hellmouth Sunbeams, and Hades Tigers to become the Wild League champion, before losing to the Mild League champions the Canada Moist Talkers in the championship series. The Sunbeams were the first Wild Card team to claim an Internet Series championship, when they accrued three losses against the Moist Talkers in the Season 21 Underbracket championship.
The Underbracket
The Underbracket was introduced in Season 20, following the passing of the Under Achiever decree in Season 19. Teams in the Underbracket advance by accruing losses.
