Player History

Carmelo Plums are usually a small fruitcake, approximately 18 inches tall. They were first discovered when they emerged from a cooler in the Hades Tigers dugout when Moody Cookbook was incinerated, rolled onto the field, and took Cookbook's place in the lineup. At that time, their origin was a mystery. They have exhibited no ability to speak, but it is unknown whether this is a limitation or a choice. The name "Carmelo Plums" was scrawled in Cookbook's handwriting on the top of the cooler from which Plums emerged. It later became apparent that the writing was incomplete and instead should have read "Caramelized Plums", but they have conveyed that they prefer Carmelo.

Richmond Harrison has confirmed that Plums do in fact taste like plums. Players seated next to Plums on the bench report feeling comforted and nourished.

Shortly after the game, a final episode of The Moody Cookbook unexpectedly aired. No known recordings of this episode exist, but viewer accounts claim it walked the audience through the process of baking Carmelo Plums. Said viewers abjectly refuse to share the "existentially terrifying" method by which Plums was baked.

During the Extended Siesta at the conclusion of Season 11, Plums opted to embark on a solo journey around Hades and the wider world in an effort to Prove themselves and discover what it means to be a Tiger, as well as their identity outside of being Cookbook's creation. They returned with greater understanding of themselves, but this process, dubbed the Proofing, is still ongoing.

A surprising new element that Plums have exhibited since their return is the ability to shapeshift into new and delicious configurations to suit the situation and further the Proofing. These include a hulking construct and a clownlike form which exhibits a delightful and/or terrifying laugh. Plums growing exponentially in size may or may not be their secret technique, YEAST MODE. The fans certainly believe as much.

Plums were swept Elsewhere during the flooding of Season 12, remaining absent for 15 days. Some believe that this adversity furthered the Proofing, and Plums capped off the season by contributing key hits and home runs in the Tigers' push for their third championship.
