Box of Stephens Lightner Files

Dust billows as the file box lands on the table. While many archives in the Interdimensional Rumor Mill are unified in some way, this... definitely isn’t one of them. The accompanying Stephen Registry explains all of the contents... wherever it is... but for now you grab the folder labelled IF-23.428 and start reading...

Stephen Fredricks

Stephen Fredricks was the most infamous criminal housed at the IF-23.428 Englewood Federal Correctional Facility. In IF-23.428, they were responsible for the theft of thousands of priceless Colorado artifacts, including the Mlona Lisel, the Dlavid, the only remaining copy of Gland Tuft Otto Englewood Heights (pre-"Mature Content" patch), and a small church mouse named Lucifer who entertained the nuns at Santo Cristobal's Episcopal Daycare.

Stephens Fredricks was one of the most dangerous con artists in their dimension. Though they had been a part of Lightner for at least REDACTED of years, they were able to conceal their former identity as a con artist from The Collective, claiming that they'd been a fortune teller in IF-23.428 to manipulate Lightner into occasionally making decisions they wouldn't have otherwise made. Their former identity was outed on Season 8, Day 36, when in a rather boneheaded move they got careless and used their "divinity" to predict a 3-game winning streak for the Breckenridge Jazz Hands, which was immediately disproven by their loss to the New York Millennials. It was the first known incident of a Stephen acting against the interests of The Collective.

Fredricks is said to be responsible for Lightner's proficiency at stealing bases, due to being a master thief.

Stephens Lightner Across Dimensions

In the Interdimensional Rumor Mill’s library, there’s an always-evolving book titled Stephens Lightner’s Stephen Registry. A bookmark sticks out from between the pages, labelled IF-573.44 and marking the following entry...

Stephen Flash

Stephen Flash was the team captain of the IF-573.44 sloccer team Denver Brights, known for being composed entirely of Goldenrod Gall moths. Despite their composition, they were rather agile and blocked many goals using their 'headbutt', which was actually the combined moths that formed the head and neck throwing their entire weight towards the ball at the same time.

Flash is said to be the reason why Lightner is sometimes distracted by bright lights.

The Many Faces of Stephens Lightner

According to the Interdimensional Rumor Mill, some things never change, even across dimensions. Someone, somewhere, decided to catalog all the different versions of Stephens Lightner in a Stephen Registry, but today the version from IF-23.428 is playing. Here’s what the rumors say...

A Short Story on Stephens Lightner

Space twists. Dimensions shiver. Something new springs forth. This time, the Interdimensional Rumor Mill reveals a Stephen from IF-85.395 out of its Stephen Registry...

Stephen Manos

Stephen Manos is a certified counterbalance forklift operator composed entirely of left hands, except for one right hand. He is a fan of jangly elevator music, safety, and step-by-step instructions. Manos helps Lightner remain calm and follow their plans in high-pressure situations, and also helps with fielding. Manos served as the narrator for a training video commissioned by the Hellmouth Counterbalance Forklift Safety Support Board.

The Lightner Project

The Lightner Project has approximately identified some of the Stephens that make up Lightner across the dimensions. However, the instability of Lightner makes the below report highly unstable. This time, the Interdimensional Rumor Mill reveals a Stephen from IF-85.395 out of its Stephen Registry...

A Lens on Stephens Lightner

Layers upon layers of print cover Stephens Lightner's sole page in the Interdimensional Rumor Mill. A box of lenses accompanies the blackened sheet - filters that reveal an article from the lens's home dimension, written in interdimensional ink. Archivists have painstakingly transcribed each layered article in a Stephen Registry, but the original is kept on display in keeping with the many authors' intent. Hold the lens from IF-506.54 up, and see what is revealed...

Stephen Secily

Stephen Secily was the star kicker in the IF-506.54-unique women's flootball team, the Cloverdale Chefs. She successfully scored 3,076 points during her career, and led the team to victory against the ██████████████████ during the ████ championships.

As part of Lightner, she is credited with providing much of Lightner's baserunning abilities. She still hinders Lightner's defense abilities by reflexively attempting to kick blaseballs instead of picking them up and throwing them.
