Overview

Not much is currently known about the history of the Mexico City Wild Wings. Due to the outwardly Chaotic Good appearance of the Wild Wings's player base and managerial style, their Lawful Evil League status has often been called into question. However, the Wild Wings Legal Team (in fact, an actual Underleagues Blaseball Team) and Gastronomic Conjurer Guild have a near-encyclopedic knowledge of blaseball law as well as a formidable ability to spot precisely the kind of loopholes and fuzzy boundaries that enable the team to operate in this arm of the league.

It is unclear whether all Wild Wings players were put on the team intentionally, and whether they are aware they are playing for the Wild Wings, or even blaseball in general.

Legend of Wingtlan/Tendiechitlan

In the sixth century, a contingent of Aztecs left their homeland of Aztlan. They came from disparate trades, traditions, and classes, but were united by one cause: the search for a promised land with the perfect field for blaseball.

Wingtzilopochtli, god of war and wings, came to the pilgrims' leader in a revelation, telling them they must journey until they found an eagle and a snake eating wings on a cactus paddle. That would be the sign to lay down their blases.

Years later, the wanderers reached the Valley of Mexico, encountering a lake of pure hot sauce. At its center were an eagle and snake perched and coiled on a half-submerged cactus, miraculously splitting a drumstick as foretold. Construction began immediately on the great city of Wingtlan (known to some as Tendiechitlan). Wingtlan (now Mexico City) became home to many wonders over the centuries, but the oldest and greatest is the lake-ringed Bucket Stadium, whose mound sits in the exact spot where the promised cactus used to be.

Superstitions

One commonly held belief among Wings fans that the Wings win when they do not look at the scoreboard. However, science has yet to substantiate this claim.

There is a recent superstition among fans that if one combines the correct flavors of wing sauces, dip 13 wings into that sauce, then raise the wing plate to the sky during the 6th inning, one will either (a) bless the team with The Flieri Shirt, an artifact which bestows unknown capabilities; or (2) immediately draft a fan into the team lineup.

The Wild Wings are currently the only team who has not had a roster change since Season 1, and are one of two teams who have not yet faced an incineration (the second team being the Kansas City Breath Mints). The reason for this is unclear, although their extreme spice has been noted as a possible cause.
