Matteo Triumphant was a player in the Shadows for the Hades Tigers, and was with the team from Season β1 until Fall Ball.
Official League Records
Triumphant joined the ILB as a player in the Shadows for the Hades Tigers with the Return of Blaseball.
During the Season β12 elections, Triumphant joined the Tigers' lineup in exchange for Ren Morin as a result of the Tigers' Foreshadow will.
On Season β14, Day 29, Triumphant swallowed a stray peanut and had an allergic reaction, resulting in a combined 13.5 → 8.8 stat decrease.
On Season β21, Day 114, Triumphant retreated to the Tigers' Shadows in exchange for Famous Owens at Sixth Circle Stadium via the Ratified Voicemail.

Triumphant was discovered by Mummy Melcon during an archeological expedition in a cave located in an unknown part of Hades. Melcon, trying to be polite, invited him to tea; Triumphant joined the Tigers shortly after. A stone skeleton with the head of a horse and the armor of a trojan warrior, Triumphant is considered to be a literal 'trojan horse' and is completely convinced Blaseball itself is a very complicated battle of the Trojan war. He's seemingly unaware the war has been over for thousands of years.
Triumphant's a great fan of Plato, often carrying a book of Plato's philosophies on field with him. As he is significantly older than Plato, it's considered a possibility that the cave he lived in during his time in the Shadows is the literal Allegory of the Cave and Plato ripped him off.
Known for riding a spectral horse (named Triumphant) on field, it's debated among fans whether the horse is his soul and therefore counts as his running the bases himself, or if the horse is a ghost possessing Triumphant and applies to the oft quoted Air Bud Clause. Either way, he has an awful sense of direction and has a hard time running the bases without Triumphant's help.
