History

Ambitious

Ambitious first appeared as a part of the Posterizer blessing in Season β16, which caused "A random Player on your Team to be permanently Ambitious". This was won by the Hellmouth Sunbeams and granted to Paula Reddick.

Ambitious would later appear in the Gift Shop in Season β18, being applied as a Seasonal modification for a random player. It also appeared as a part of Item Crates that could be received as a part of blessings, the Gift Shop, Community Chest drops, a Prize Match or Glitter weather.

Unambitious

Unambitious first appear appeared in the Gift Shop in Season β20, being applied as a Seasonal modification for a random player. This was the season that introduced the Underbracket, and the gift was advertised to "to make the most of a Underbracket run". Unambitious, Solo Edition was available again in Seasons β21 and β23.

Unambitious is also a Modification that can be conferred by an Item, but has been seen only once in the history of Blaseball - the Unambitious Jersey, gained by Oxford Paws batter Dexter Snodgrass during Glitter weather on Season β24, Day 79 in a match against the Carolina Queens.

Trivia

Tot Clark's Ambition

During Season β21, the Seattle Garages player Tot Clark gained Holey Ambitious Socks from the Community Chest, giving them the Ambitious modification, and on Day 103 they began Overperforming. During that Season's Election, Clark was the subject of an Item Steal Will to steal a Cool Arm Helmet of the Feast, causing Clark to drop the Holey Ambitious Socks. While Clark lost the Ambitious Modifier, their Overperforming modifier never went away, as Ambitious never triggered to remove the effect in the Earlseason of Season 22. As such Tot Clark remained overperforming, even after their incineration in Season β24, right up until the Nullification of Blaseball.
