To Spit in the Face of the Gods

York is not the first player to return from the dead. And he will likely not be the last. While some were content with the results of the first instance of necromancy on the league, others were not so easily satisfied. When Nagomi McDaniel approached York’s old teammate Mooney Doctor about the possibility of repeating the experiment that brought back Jaylen Hotdogfingers, Mooney thought of her own loss, and what she was willing to do to spite the gods that caused it. She reportedly told Nagomi that:

“I have no interest in repeating the experiment. What good is a hypothesis that never moves past it’s first stage? We know now what happens when someone is brought back from the void.

This time I will do it better."

And so using the secrets unveiled by the Leviathan and the Necronomicon many years ago she once again drew from the void and was able to return York to the immaterial plane. This time however it would be different, or so Mooney claimed.

Home Away From Home

Upon returning to play in Baltimore, York was saddened to learn that his gunbat, the Vibe Check had been lost upon his incineration. He was reportedly told by teammate Silvaire Roadhouse that “It’s not the tool that makes the player, they’re your skills and your experiences that made it valuable, so even if you have to replace the bat, you’ll still carry it inside of you” to which York responded that “Yeah, but it was cool”. Silvaire quickly agreed, and offered him one of her revolvers as a replacement but York politely declined.

This interaction did however spark a quick friendship between York and Silvaire, who realized that Silvaire, despite her cool exterior, was actually a huge dork. York was eager to learn Silvaire’s gunslinging ways, and how they could be applied to batting, and Silvaire was happy to enjoy some time getting to know their newest recruit. She and Silvaire Sr. were even more than happy to give York a place to stay in their farmhouse outside of Baltimore where he was given ample amounts of work to keep him busy and the Roadhouses were sufficiently threatening to the press that they kept a wide berth from the property.
