News networks across the globosphere dedicated 24 hour coverage to the scandal as it unfolded.

Peanut Fraud is a crime involving the illegal acquisition, ingestion, materialization or dematerialization of peanuts, for the purpose of nutrition, monetary gain, monetary loss, squirrel raising or any other activity. It is considered treasonous by Internet League Blaseball. The first recorded case of Peanut Fraud happened in Day 2 of Season 3, when capitalists committed sufficient Peanut Fraud as to warrant the first non-siesta stoppage in Blaseball history while the Umps demanded atonement. Under international law, it is one of the worst crimes you can commit. It is one of the seven deadly Blaseball sins.

Some speculated that Peanut Fraud was linked to the possession of negative peanuts. It was confirmed that having negative peanuts was not Peanut Fraud, and that Peanut Fraud was much larger scale maleficence involving hacking activities beyond what one could do when using the shop as normal.

Timeline of Peanut Fraud

  • Season 3 Day 2 was the first observed case of Peanut Fraud. Peanut Cheaters used illicit methods to gain a large amount of peanuts and Coins, resulting in the stoppage of play and postponement of games for one hour. The Peanut Cheaters did not come forward but play resumed the following hour by mandate of the Blaseball Gods.
  • Season 3 Day 4 saw the second case of Peanut Fraud. All games were stopped mid-4-6th inning. Games did not resume and instead all of Blaseball entered a state of Blasphemy. At the end of the Blasphemy period, Blaseball left the Discipline Era's Peanut Plague and entered Uncertainty.
