The Gunblade Bats are a class of legendary bats, forged by Blaseball Gods in response to the fans collective wishes (and arcade tickets) when the time is right and the grass is green. The gun functionality to their name varies from case to case. Some use a explosive charge to accelerate the bat for extreme power on the swing. Others will seem to have an intelligence of their own, whether through an advanced machine learning processor, or a bound spirit. Recently uncovered records suggest that the original Prime Gunblade Bat was used to hit the First Pitch. The whereabouts of the Prime Gunblade Bat are unknown, though rumors speak of a blackened sharp rod in the collection of the Blaseball Commissioner.
Whenever a player wields a Gunblade Bat they have maximum hitting statistics.
Timeline of Gunblade Bats
- The Gunblade Bat made it's first appearance in observable Blaseball during the Season 1 election. The Dallas Steaks won the Gunblade Bat blessing which stated "A random hitter on your team will gain the Gun Blade bat, maxing out their hitting stats." Steaks hitter Jessica Telephone received the Gunblade Bat, but she was promptly stolen by the Philly Pies through another blessing.
- A second Gunblade Bat entered Blaseball during the Season 2 election. The Hawaii Fridays won the Gunblade Bat blessing, and their hitter York Silk received a Gunblade Bat.
- There is no Gunblade Bat blessing in the election for Season 3, so it is unknown if or when a new Gunblade Bat will appear.
