Legendary bats are a class of powerful thwacking instruments, forged by Blaseball Gods in response to the fans collective wishes (and arcade tickets) when the time is right and the grass is green. Their functionality varies from case to case. For example, gunblade bats use a explosive charge to accelerate the bat for extreme power on the swing. Others seem to have an intelligence of their own, whether through an advanced machine learning processor, or a bound spirit. Recently uncovered records suggest that the original Prime Bat was used to hit the First Pitch. The whereabouts of the Prime Bat are unknown, though rumors speak of a blackened sharp rod in the collection of the Blaseball Commissioner.

Whenever a player wields a Legendary Bat they have maximum hitting statistics. Currently, Legendary Bats can only enter the game of Blaseball through blessings.

Timeline of Legendary Bats

  • The first legendary Bat made it's first appearance in observable Blaseball during the Season 1 election. The Dallas Steaks won the "Max Out Hitter" blessing which stated "This will max out the hitting stats of a random hitter on your team." Steaks hitter Jessica Telephone received this blessing, but she was promptly stolen by the Philly Pies through the Steal Best Hitter blessing. Jessica's bat received the name Dial Tone in Season 3, confirming its legendary status.
  • A second Legendary Bat entered Blaseball during the Season 2 election. The Hawaii Fridays won the Gunblade Bat blessing which stated "A random hitter on your team will gain the Gun Blade bat, maxing out their hitting stats." Their hitter York Silk received a legendary Gunblade bat, which the team has nicknamed "Vibe Check."
  • There is no Gunblade Bat blessing in the election for Season 3, so it is unknown if or when a new legendary bat will appear.
