Smithson was first seen as a lineup player for the Hellmouth Sunbeams after the Microphone Localized and Tuned into Gamma 3.
During the Gamma 3 Midseason Elections, Smithson's batting increased from 1.3 → 1.6 as a result of the Sunbeams' Muscle Warmers amplification. Smithson's star ratings were then completely randomized as a result of the Long Distance Call distortion, resulting in them becoming an Alternate.
