Talk:Agan Harrison

Following Agan's departure from Breckenridge, the Jazz Hands have found Bolter's instrument collection mysteriously cleaned and re-arranged on several occasions. Notably, several Jazz Hands who joined the team after Agan's departure were able to easily find their perfect instrument predominantly placed near the entrance of the collection.

Kathy Mathews' investigations into these mysterious events found some evidence the re-arrangements were correlated with times Agan played against the Jazz Hands, however they were unable to reach a definitive conclusion before their departure to Boston.

A proposal to add two more sections, according to community lore. The proposal includes Harrison's time in the Mech's shadows and their move to the Thieves, and relations on the team.

Much in the same vein as the Jazz Hands have proposed a transfer narrative for Edric, we have one in return for Agan! We are of course open for feedback and commentary. This compliments the suggestions we've made to Edric's talk page.

I would like to add 1. They use they/them pronouns in addition to [ ] pronouns. 2. They are married and their husband's name is Amal Harrison. They love their husband a lot. Their husband quilts. 3. They also like blowling and dlarts and are equally bad at those. 4. They used to teach ski lessons one on one in Breckenridge but never got a lot of business.

Speaking as a Jazz Hands (Discord) lore wrangler and not a wiki mod, we're still trying to figure out what we want/need to have done w/ Agan in preparation for this transfer. That said, a lot of folks have expressed that they want Agan to only use ██ / ███ pronouns, as it's in keeping with the overarching Aggressively Forgettable nature of ███ that we all know and love. Windows users can use the alt code alt+219 to get the █ character, but obviously copying & pasting █ is tedious on Mac, and excessively difficult on mobile, so we'll also often use spoiler text with spaces inside (e.g. ). With this in mind, do you want me to still bring they/them pronouns to the Discord for discussion?

The other ideas you proposed are interesting! I'll be sure to bring them up with the rest of the team to get you some feedback, though it might be a bit before we have anything. Blaseball's being Blaseball, y'know?

I think it's best to talk around Agan, rather than directly about ███. Don't include many direct statements about ███, especially from Blaseball characters. Instead, talk about stuff happening in ███'s proximity, or have characters make guesses or qualified statements about ███. Specific statements work best when they're un-sourced, and written in a way that adds to ███'s mystery, like the bit about eating peanut butter.

I think this gives room to tell stories about ███, but in a way that preserves ███'s mysterious, uncanny quality.

(I created the initial stub for Agan way back in Season 2. I'm happy to let other people have fun with ███, but I'm somewhat attached to ███ core concept).

Thanks for your patience Ivyn. We discussed your ideas on the Discord, and sure enough, people feel quite strongly that Harrison should exclusively use ██ / ███ pronouns. People seem fairly excited by the other three ideas you had, though! The big thing is, as Deafhobbit also mentions, people would like to ensure that writing about Harrison is mysterious. To quote one Discord member describing how he imagines ski students interacting with Harrison:

I can picture a visitor coming each season, trying to request a fun instructor they had last time but they can’t remember the name. At first they’re disappointed but they get put with Agan anyway, have a great time, come back next year and repeat.

While we, as authors, recognize the "truth" of what's happening, within the character of the wiki Harrison would ideally remain enigmatic. I look forward to seeing what you produce!

After much discussion and polling, the Jazz Hands on the Official Blaseball Discord would appreciate it greatly if the following elements of Agan Harrison's lore were maintained going forward:

• Agan Harrison only uses ██ / ███ pronouns. The █ character can be typed by Windows users using the alt code alt+219, though we often also use spaces within spoiler text as a practical alternative for Mac, mobile, and numpad-lacking Windows users.
• No one can remember Harrison's appearance, and thinking about ███ often produces a sort of "brain fuzz" and difficulty with remembering details.
• Despite being unknowable and potentially terrifying as a result, Harrison is benevolent (or at least not malicious).

There are approximately 1,000 Jazz Hands fans on the Discord, though only 25-30 participated in these polls over ~48 hours.
