Elijah Bates is a player for the Canada Moist Talkers. Bates first played Blaseball for York University in the Canadian University League. After dropping out of university, Bates briefly ran a bed and breakfast. Bates returned to the splort, after His Nephew visited him in a dream.

His Nephew is presumed to be the child of his sister Elizabeth Eliott, who is a batter for the Yellowstone Magic. As of the present day, Eliott is not known to have any children.
Dietary History
On Day 31 of Season 3 Elijah Bates had a yummy reaction to a Peanut and gained one whole star rating. Before this day, Elijah Bates had never consumed protein in his entire life. When asked about how he felt about the change at a press conference, Bates stared vacantly and reported that "Mooney [Doctor] has [put him] on a steady diet of protein shakes to see if [he will] improve [his] batting."
