Bees Taswell/IF-11.537

Background

Bees Taswell is a spectral entity commonly referred to as a ghost. Though Taswell is recalcitrant about details surrounding their life and death, they have revealed in interviews that they used to be a serf who worked primarily in agriculture. Taswell manifests as a humanoid form with a detached head and wicker basket mask for a face, akin to a medieval beekeeping outfit. Despite this, Taswell has little involvement with the apiary and plant mechanics of the Core.

Career

Taswell reportedly flew into the Core some time before the Mechanic's ascension, and has played with the team since. They are a prolific artist who incorporates their long history into their work with paint, ceramics, and mosaic. Taswell's preferred medium is illustrated manuscripts, and they are known to carry around an art journal with them at all times, even while fielding.

Prophecy

Taswell reportedly has the gift of prophecy, and channels it through their art. Before every Mechanics game, Taswell draws an illustration that depicts the future ahead of them. However, Taswell cannot control the scope of their visions, and often reveals information about the future that is entirely useless to the Mechanics' blaseball strategy, though they have helped reduce the impact of at least three natural disasters.

Bees Taswell/IF-8.52

Background

Bees Taswell is a hive of electronic and biological bees working in concert together. Taswell was constructed by Taswell Aeronautics on contract with the Department of Agriculture in an attempt to address declining pollinator populations. Some time into their operation, Taswell went rogue, telling their operators that they were going to "save the bees" before disappearing with three hives of honeybees, two yellowjackets, a male mosquito, and a fruit bat.

Fugitive Status

Little is known of Taswell's whereabouts during this period, though they are the prime suspect in multiple counts of construction sabotage and butterfly theft. How they found their way to the Core is unclear, though Taswell has stated in interviews a need for repairs is what drove them to the Mechanics.

Joining the Mechanics

Taswell is a self-proclaimed Plant Mechanic, and helps coordinate pollination and insect conservation efforts within the Core, a job that they have done since the Core was cutoff from the outside world during Ascension. Taswell first started attending Mechanics games as a fan, however, confusion regarding their bat and an untimely illness of another player lead to them being accidentally invited to practice and drafted into the team.

Personal Life

Taswell is married to Inez Owens of the Boston Flowers.
