Inez Owens was a lineup player for the Boston Flowers, and was with the team from Season β4 Day 98 until Fall Ball.

Official League Records

Owens joined the ILB as a lineup player for the Boston Flowers on Season β4, Day 98 after the incineration of Morrow Doyle.

During the Season β4 elections, Owens was affected by the Alternate Reality decree and replaced by an Alternate. This involved Owens's stats being randomized, resulting in a combined 9.1 → 8.4 stat decrease.

On Season β9, Day 72, Owens swallowed a peanut and had an allergic reaction, resulting in a combined 11.2 → 6.7 stat decrease.

During the Season β9 elections, Owens received a combined 6.7 → 7.2 stat increase as a result of the Hellmouth Sunbeams' Mutually Arising blessing.

During the Season β10 elections, Owens received an increase in batting from 2 → 2.5 as a result of the Unlimited Tacos' Sharing Signs blessing.

During the Coffee Cup, Owens played for Heavy FC as a lineup player.

History

While Inez Owens may seem to be just a swarm of bees in a clear plastic raincoat, they are actually in fact a swarm of bees in a Blaseball uniform underneath a clear plastic raincoat.

Following the presumed incineration of Morrow Doyle on Season 4 Day 98, the collective outrage of the Flowers and their fans reached the Boston Garden itself, and the bees that pollinate it. Fueled by that powerful surge of emotion, the bees banded together and joined the Flowers in solidarity.

Despite being motivated to join by the Flowers' righteous rage, Owens is excessively energetic at first glance. They love their teammates and fans, and always have enthusiastic buzzing for fellow players, both on and off of their team. Despite this, all who know Owens confess that the swarm scares them. Maybe it’s the ferociousness with which they play Blaseball, or the threatening hum they give off when near an Umpire, or perhaps the ever-present threat that a swarm of bees generally presents.

With Doyle gone, Owens has big shoes to fill. But Owens doesn't wear shoes. Not only do the bees not like it in there, but they also "conveniently" leave their official pairs near a Shoe Thief whenever a new pair arrives. It's the least they can do in Doyle’s memory.

Owens didn’t have much time getting to know the team before a decree made them switch places with a version of themselves from a different dimension. The change wasn’t as noticeable for Owens as it was for Dunn Keyes and at first the only teammate who noticed it was Gloria Bugsnax, who got close to Owens in the short time they were on the team.

After Boston Flowers received grass blood Owens started growing Bees Jubilee vines out of their hive body. The bees were glad to have a food source so close to home.

Bee Wedding

Inez Owens and Bees Taswell of the Core Mechanics were married after the Season 15 Finals, with both teams in attendance. The event was also streamed by Zesty Yaboi, Owens’ teammate. During the ceremony, the two exchanged bats, in accordance with the Core tradition.

Everyday life

In their free time Owens is a honey making collective, not hesitant to give out honey, either in jars or just simply in the comb, to whoever needs a bit of sugar in their life. They also like to spend time with Gloria Bugsnax, who they remained friends with after their alternation and to hang out with Zeboriah Wilson whose presence they find calming. Inez Owens also spends some of their time tending to the nature of Boston as a member of The Gardeners.
