Waveback Event
The Waveback Event is an event that occurred during Season 4 of Blaseball that resulted in many players having their gold stores doubled, as well as altering the stats of freshly created Hawaii Fridays player, Sixpack Dogwalker.
Description of Events
On August 28, 2020, the Blaseball game servers experienced an error that forced The Game Band to rollback the state of the game world to 2AM Pacific. The events of the day that occurred after 2AM Pacific were manually reconstructed with game logs to bring the game back to its most recent state, which was Season 4, Day 88.
As compensation for the error, many players experienced a doubling of their gold stores, as well as a complementary gift of 5 voting tickets.
Additionally, Sixpack Dogwalker received a legendary item, Banger & Smash, as a part of the server correction. Sixpack also appeared to inherent the statistical makeup of their predecessor, Thomas England.
While Blaseball was under siesta due to this error, The Commissioner tweeted "Everybody do the wave lol 🌊"[1], causing many fans on Twitter to reply with wave emojis. This brief social activity inspired the name of this event.
