History

Background

Nava has an incredibly generic fielding style, indistinguishable from the legions of blaseball players that have come before them. In fact, they also appear indistinguishable from almost any previous blaseball player while on defense. Nava has a delicate swing that appears to barely cut through smoke, however, this is a known illusion. Those nearby swears she smells like bayberries.

Though Nava plays in the bristling heat of the Hellmouth, they are never seen breaking a sweat. Their calm demeanor and level-headed rationality lend her them patience to make smart plays, though they seldom take big risks while at bat. Their slender frame gives them a smaller-than-normal strike zone that presents a challenge to many pitchers. However, those who have been in close proximity to Nava attest to an unusual phenomenon: Nava's striking personage gives one the intuitive sense of significant events to come, but the warmth of spirit usually found in plenty among Sunbeams players is not just absent, but repulsed. As a result, Nava may sometimes redirect even the most precise throws of skilled pitchers outside their strike zone and walk to first.

Margarito Nava, a player for the Boston Flowers, is their "cousin". At least, that's what Nagomi has announced, many times, usually as they get up to bat against the Flowers. The Hellmouth Tribune has Nagomi on record shouting: "There is my cousin, Margarito! They sure are my cousin, my regular old human person cousin. That's for sure! They are my cousin. On my blood-traitor's side!" while pointing at Margarito in the field with her bat.

Nagomi Nava is one of few players to step foot in the Hellmouth stadium and not experience The Tug (except, perhaps, for JEFF!)
