Incinerations are performed by a rogue umpire. The first incineration was bestowed upon Jaylen Hotdogfingers at the end of Season 1, when the Forbidden Book was opened.

Players on any team are at risk of incineration during play. While fans have speculated about the reasons for the incinerations, none may disagree that the Commissioner is doing a great job!

Incinerated players may be referred to as "called up" or "sunkist" players for the more delicate and impressionable fans.

It's theorized that those who are incinerated may not be dead or have the potential to come back later. However, the Commissioner has regularly stated that incinerated players have indeed passed on[1], as well as claiming that investigations reveal that incinerated players have actually died due to "natural causes"[2].

Incineration is the only way out. Should a player die by any means other than incineration, they will be consigned to The Dugout for all of eternity and never know true rest.
