Avilia Guzman is a brass player for the Seattle Garages Acoustics Laboratory. A Seattle native, she is rumored to have been born in the bathroom of Beth's Café, and raised by wild baristas that roam there, travelling from independently-owned coffee house to independently-owned coffee house across the city as the corporate chains took over. Prior to joining the Garages, Avila Guzman was one of Seattle's top baristas, her knowledge of expresso machines extending to building her own custom models from found scrap, including the ones currently in use inside the Garages' clubhouse.

The night before big games Guzman hosts dinner parties for the rest of the garages. Mike Townsend is invited to these parties because he brings the cookies and cakes he bakes right before each game.
