Life on the Dale updates

Hey all, the Crabs are planning some more wiki updates for Avila.

First, we were going to take a second look at how Avila's prosthetics are written, so that they don't play in to harmful tropes regarding disabled characters. Second, to better comply with the wiki's policy on loring incineration, we were planning to make vague the details of Sparks' incineration on Avila's page, and move the details of that lore to Sparks' page.

We'll post a draft of our updates when it's done, but for right now we invite any fans from Avila's other teams for their input. Shoot us a message here on the Talk page if you have any ideas. Thanks.

Crosspost from Seattle Shadows Co-Op

As I mentioned a while back in the Big Garage server I am interested in adding Avila's parents' cafe to the Seattle Shadows Co-Op page as an honorary member of the co-op. The cafe is a really cool idea and I wanted to give it another connection to the Garages! My proposed entry is Topic:X0xrpc5261p42nhr here. Please let me know if there are any changes or suggestions that anyone would like me to make!

Hello!

The Crabs have come up with some wiki updates for Avila, Including:

- Adjusting the role of the Baristas (the non-canon group) in Avila’s backstory, while maintaining the group's positive impact in Avila's life.

- Clarifying that Avila and her family are Dominican-American, and expanding more on her heritage.

- Elaborating on Avila being an upper-limb bilateral amputee, as well as the assistance devices she uses.

The proposed updates are in the following draft: [LINK]

This is a great update! I was going to list all the things I liked but then I realized it was just a summary of what you provided already haha. Thanks for taking the time to do this 💖

Crosspost for Karim IRM

Peaksykid (talkcontribs)

The Garages recently held a lore jam to make an interpretation of Mcdowell Karim that was explicitly Muslim and Arab and that did not involve magic or precognition, and came up with this interpretation of Karim, who is a detective and meteorologist studying the mysteries of coffee weather.

Avila is mentioned as being friends with Karim and working on investigating coffee weather and Redaction with them.

Looking to add some content for the end of the expansion era:

Details include:

- Reference to the presence of the Baristas in relation to Avila's investigations

- Avila and Fairwood meeting up on the Crabs

- Avila's strange relationship with the detective duo Herring and Winfield

- Avila deciding that she was okay with not killing a god, as she has other things to handle

- Avila contemplating the very nature of what a god is

Full text of the update is available here.

Avila Guzman is mentioned on the page of new Sunbeam Borg Ruiz!! Fulltext of Bo's page can be found here but the relevant section is as follows:

"Towards the end of Season 19, after a prophecy envisaged by Mcdowell Karim predicted the imminent incineration of Sparks Beans, Ruiz became involved in "The Plan" to save Beans from complete incineration, helping Magi with upgrading Avila Guzman's mechanical arms so they would function as effectively specialized lightning rods."

Adding content for the Avlia's time on the Beams as well as the Crabs!

- Follows the thread of chasing down Brisket Friendo as a part of being fed up with the investigation's slow pace.

- The start of an adaptation to do with electricity

- Joining the Crabs and having Pedro Davids take her under his wing

- Eventual Friendship with Lorcan Smaht as a part of the investigation, and em flipping her negative.

Joining the Spies

A new section on Avila joining the Spies. Highlights:

  • The Agency wanted to hire someone with deep knowledge of coffee to investigate Observed and Redacted. A feedback swap was arranged.
  • Immediately upon recruitment, Avila took one look at the Spies' only celebrating the absolute minimum of league-mandated #PARTYTIME, and made them have some actual fun for once.
  • Avila is doing forensic coffee analysis. She is wondering why they haven't made any major breakthroughs in the case for years now.
  • She delights in using the phrase "I would tell you, but then I'd have to kill you".
