The Talkers would like to set up the IRM for Travel Updates from Koch's impending Super Roamin' travels. It would mainly include entries from his travel blog and newspaper columns about his travels, though it could also include other sources of information about his journey. The idea is to have a good place for teams he visits to add things that may be short and/or somewhat disconnected from other entries, since he won't be on any one team for long. The IRM will be an addition to the page, not a replacement for the current content.

I have written drafts of two initial IRM entries: an entry from Koch's blog about preparing to roam, and an article from the Halifax Gazette about an ATV camper van thing the team has made for him to travel in. These are both based on pulling together ideas from a lore jam we held for this. I have also posted these in the Talkers' lore channel, and may update them if I get feedback there, but I expect the main content won't change.

Title: Super Roamin’ Fifth Base travels

Term: Travel Update

Intro: In the season nineteen election, Jesús Koch received the Legendary Super Roamin' Fifth Base, causing him to travel around the ILB. He has started a blog to document his travels. As well, some splorts columnists, especially at the Halifax Gazette, have been known to update their readers on his journey during slow news weeks. The item below may be one of Koch’s blog entries, a newspaper column about his travels, or an entry from one of the sporadically updated fan blogs that reports on him.

IRM entry one

Blog entry – Jesús Koch’s blog – Preseason 20

Welcome to my new travel blog! I promised I’d keep everyone back home updated, and this seems like a good way to do that, though CV – that’s Commisioner Vapor – tells me blogs are dead.

Packing for this is hard. CV has promised to keep my room as it is, so I can still stay here when I get a chance to spend time in Halifax, and also I don’t need to worry about what to do with the stuff that I’m not bringing with me. That helps a lot. In return, I have promised to send back local Doritos flavours for Budy. Don’t tell CV, but I’d do that anyway.

I may just pack a few changes of clothes and my guitar for now, and get CV to ship me anything I really miss. And of course I’ll take the new jacket the team got me, with an ORB patch and space for any patches I collect on my travels. I still miss Scorpler’s Jacket and the patches I had on it, but I think I’m looking forward to building a new collection.

I think I’m looking forward to most of this, actually. The last time I left a home was the Alternation, which, well, it sucked. But this’ll be different, because I can still stay in contact with my friends and visit occasionally, and because I’ll be travelling to places I know a little about and want to see more of. I won’t say I’m not a little nervous, but at the moment excitement is winning out over nerves.

See you soon – in person if you’re the team I’m headed to, in that video chat app you made me install if you’re CV, and here on my new blog otherwise!

IRM entry two

Talkers Batter’s Home Away From Home – Halifax Gazette, Season 20, Day 2

Halifax splorts fans have been in an uproar about the impending departure of Moist Talkers batter Jesús Koch. We caught up with Koch after the season opener to find out how he plans to travel between teams. We learned that the whole team has been busy this offseason helping him modify an ATV to travel in, so he’ll have his own space wherever he goes. “Augusto [Reddick] suggested a camper van,” Koch told us, “but then we realized that with ILB teams in locations like Tokyo, Hades, and the Core, I’d need something that could handle different terrain.”

We asked how this would help with crossing the Atlantic Ocean, but Koch just said “it’s an all terrain vehicle” and then changed the subject to talk about how it had been customized. So we don’t know if it’s a standard ATV or some kind of flying device, but we do know it has a full sized bed and a surprising amount of storage.

At this point it’s not clear whether Koch will always be arriving in his new ATV. When asked if teams he roams to would need to find parking spots for it, he said, “Well, it is a lot of driving, so I think sometimes I might take Morse up on his offer to give me rides instead. Or I could just take the bus.”

Update: Just realized the Travel Updates Registry will need slightly different intro text, so here's how the last sentence will change:

> The updates below may include Koch’s blog entries, newspaper columns about his travels, and entries from the sporadically updated fan blogs that report on him.

The first IRM has a typo--I'm not sure if it's supposed to be for Season 20 or Season 21?

Absotively (talkcontribs)

Should be season 20. I will fix it. Thank you!

Am going to change the Gazette article to specify they caught up with Koch after the Day 1 game, because he was swept Elsewhere in game 2. Will assume the article went to press before that.
