For people who weren't present late in the discipline era, a new form of "alternate trust" was implemented that preserved star count. For whatever reason, the algorithm for this process tended to produce players with high "patheticism", a "negative" stat that made players worse at batting the higher it was. I thought in classic blaseball fashion I'd make a little article immortalizing the piece of culture by making it into wordplay.
