Talk:Rat Batson

I'd like to set a image for Batson's infobox (the first one in the gallery, labeled "Rat Batson art by @birbteef") and add a Community Reports tab, with pronouns (it/its), species (Bat?), and interests (Photography)

Hey, I've written up a draft and run it by the Tacos wiki crowd, and want to post it here for Batson's page. I've never done this before, but I'll try to go about it the right way.

All the lore is inspired either by fan canon, or more often, the lore jam we had for Batson midway through their playing season.

A summary of the lore:

- Batson joins the team from Elsewhere, led by Rat Mason

- Batson is the team's batboy and photographer (due to its pregame ritual)

- Accidentally takes Nicholas Vincent's place on their ninth day of work

- Batson sucks *so so bad* because it isn't allowed to use a blaseball bat

- Sets new records in strikeouts, but walks very often

- Becomes a part-time batting coach!

- Punches a home run, earning a banner in the ballpark

- Historic URBI record celebrated by its team, and itself

- Finally retired happily, and goes back to its batboy job

---

- Absorbed their personality from other players, largely

- Was part of the Night Tacos until half the Night Tacos left town

- Fairly mysterious, if only because it likes being weird

- You can call it Barry

A few weeks back I made some art of Rat Batson, but as this sort of edgy rat who had a permanent scowl on his face so that he could barely even open his eyes. It's the one in the wiki now.

I was wondering if we could retcon that design in as being the way that Rat Batson sees Rat Mason. As this cool teammate to look up to and try to emulate. Or also maybe He identifies as a rat even though he's actually a bat. Or maybe since he came from Elsewhere, he doesn't even know what a Bat is and Rat Mason was his first example of another living being, since in the google doc he's referred to as a "bat-like creature" not just a bat.

I'm new to the wiki, so I'm not sure of the process, but I wanted to contribute.

I really love that art, I saw it on the wiki as I was typing this up! I would love to add that as a part of Batson's character, looking up to Rat and seeing them as this ultra-cool power hitter. Would you mind if I wrote around that and edited the descriptions for your art to make that the premise?

You did a great job with with the writing so far. SO do whatever you think is best I'm just happy to have my stuff integrated into the lore.
