Pitching Machine Pronouns Edit Conflict

This topic is to be used to resolve the edit war occurring on this page for Pitching Machine's prounouns. Please use ~~~~ at the end of your posts to tag your name. You can create threads by using colons at the start of your message, one for each indent. BlaseballSteve || Admin, Founder || Steven_#3235 (talk) 21:29, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi, hope this works. I believe that the pitching machine uses it/its pronouns and is mostly not sentient. Taco Discord has also mostly agreed with this. I hope I did this right.
This is just a second post by User:DeejayRingis to verify if I understand how to use wiki talk, as the psuedo liason for tacos discord DeejayRingis (talk) 21:36, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

i think we shouldn't list pronouns on the wiki in general, but doubly not here. not appropriate or useful for an inanimate object. Trustworthym (talk) 22:37, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

To be clear: the issue is not whether pronouns are appropriate for the wiki. The issue is how to resolve divergence in interpretation without an edit war. Nesblitt (talk) 23:11, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
the easiest way to prevent an edit war on this page would be to remove pronouns on this page. Trustworthym (talk) 15:11, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
it isnt a set pronouns section which is the worry, it is also in the wiki itself, a switching of pronouns in actual sentences, and it is going to get real unweildy using the full name every time DeejayRingis (talk) 22:42, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
I could definitely see this becoming a problem when trying to write any sort of narrative that reads easily. Both for on this page and on other wiki pages that Pitching Machine may become relavant on. I think it/its makes the most sense if the communal fanon interpretation of it (as a literal baseball pitching machine) is what's being described on this wiki. Alternative interpretations/multiverse interpretations could use different pronouns in the IRM or whatever the admins eventually add for this as per their latest update. Ortiz Lopez x Pitching Machine

I'm working on the Ortiz Lopez wiki entry, and I'd like to add information regarding the PM x Ortiz ship at some point. I figure the Tacos would be cool with something like this considering the relationship is already mentioned here in Rumors/Reports. Any and all workshopping of it can be done on the Ortiz page. MEMANIAsama (talk) 04:36, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

I can vouch for the Ortiz x PM being viewed very positively by the discord tacos! Especially with it starting with the bloodrain smooch

PM's possible family

Hiya, Taco here! The Tacos recently added a new staff member to our wiki page, who is named Lore Machine. She literally came to me in a dream after elections on Sunday. The only "canon" we have about her is that she's a sentient laptop who travels around on a roomba and is the Tacos' Facilities Manager. However! One of our main ideas about her is that she's PM's sister, and we want to run that idea by you guys before making it official, because we don't want to step on any toes. That could be fun, I say go for it! We're planning on making an IRM for Pitching Machine on the garages, where PM is constantly shifting between different iterations of Pitching Machine so that works out fine. I'll be sure to include that lore in at least one of it's iterations. StarNavigator (talk) 04:31, 23 October 2020 (UTC)

PM on the Garages

As there are a lot of interpretations of Pitching Machine, we'd like to make them our first foray into using the IRM. Our plans are that Pitching Machine crashed through the roof of the Big Garage after the unshelling, and has been alternating between different versions of itself at random. The Garages players assume this has to do with it being from Los Angeli and don't question it, teaching each iteration how to play the drums. StarNavigator (talk) 04:38, 23 October 2020 (UTC)

My Lovers Input: Ortiz would like to date all variations of Pitching Machine.MEMANIAsama (talk) 01:59, 24 October 2020 (UTC)

Season 11 Playoffs

Pitching Machine was instrumental in the Seattle Garages’ victory in the Season 11 MLDS against the Charleston Shoe Thieves, allowing only 2 hits and 1 run in the crucial Game 5, clinching the series. Against the Hellmouth Sunbeams in the Internet Series, Pitching Machine allowed only 4 runs in a close Game 2 loss, performing the best out of any Garages pitcher against the eventual champions.

During Pitching Machine’s playoff heroics, the nickname “Parking Meter” was coined to honor one of the Garages’ most stoic and reliable pitching talents. Fans chant “FEED THE METER” to encourage PM, and erupt in cheers when PM records a strikeout.

Malik Destiny frequently feeds guitar picks (referred to by him as “tricoins”) to Pitching Machine in a literal attempt to feed the meter. Despite the team’s insistence that Malik stop, worried about getting something stuck in their gears, the picks have not appeared to negatively affect PM’s performance. A faint rattling sound can sometimes be heard when PM fires a fastball.
