SIBR Theory

Here is a brief theorycraft of technical events, as described by Society for Internet Blaseball Research:

1) Out by birds does not check if they have gotten completely out, which caused the initial problem
2) The game only checks for when outs is exactly 3 (or four provided they have fourth strike), rather then checking for more then 3. This is what lead to the immune to outs
3) For some reason, out by caught stealing runs it's own check, presumably using >3 instead of ==3, which allowed crowvertime to end

Thanks to the Council Members at SIBR for this theorycrafting! BlaseballSteve || Admin, Founder || Steven_#3235 (talk) 14:56, 9 October 2020 (UTC)

Non-Lore Section Proposal

editing talk pages on mobile is a special hell so here it is in a google doc instead https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xiV5mjCa9a9UZ3DSiDA-FuJQlxX36_QMHHlcYtu6mI8/edit?usp=drivesdk

Community lore ideas from the Jazz Hands:

  • After the flood of birds diving the field chased Alexander Horne away, the umpire calling the rest of the inning looked suspiciously like 20 crows in an umpire outfit. The 16th out was less a called out and more a surprised squawk, which the tired Jazz Hands just assumed meant it was the end of the inning.
  • The umpires stopped paying attention to the game because they were too busy incinerating birds.
  • When Helga Moreno was caught stealing second, she ran into an ump, which brought their attention back to the number of outs to call the inning.

Community lore ideas from the Lovers:

  • We're tossing around some ideas right now, but from our side we thought it would be funny if since Alexander Horne was attacked, that Knight (and maybe the Umps?) were distracted with helping Alex fend off the crows, since those are the only people (on our team) that understand how you play Blaseball. We're convinced the rest of the team is still absolutely clueless and just doing their best to support Knight.
We've got a wiki doc with other ideas we're tossing around, we'll report back soon!MEMANIAsama (talk) 17:30, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
