Background

The first records of Wichita Toaster come from the National Transportation Safety Board report on what was known as The Reinisch Event. An earth moving machine was stopped from rampaging through downtown Topeka. It appeared to be piloted remotely, and had a manifesto inside that called for the entire state of Kansas to be made perfectly flat, geographically speaking, creating a 900 ft cliff running through Kansas City. The machine appeared to be welded together with random parts. Many engineers and mechanics have studied the machine and none can explain how it was able to start, let alone run for such a long time. Toaster was not found, but a warrant for her arrest is still active.

Joining the Wild Wings

Trying to avoid increased attention from US law enforcement, Toaster moved to Mexico City to continue her preparations for leveling the midwestern territory. She bought up a building from Emily Burger to convert into a lab. One resident, Axel Cardenas, refused to leave and instead convinced her to take his place on the Wild Wings in exchange for access to the caverns below The Bucket which she could convert into the lab space she needed. Once on the Wings, Toaster began excavating the caverns and fitted them for her needs. She has butted heads with the Bucket's architectural team over these renovations, but their full extent has been successfully hidden from them so far.

Trivia

  • While an engineering degree from "UC Berketey" hangs on her wall, Toaster insists that her work is closer to alchemy than science.
