The squirrel increased peanut consumption by a rate of one per click, allowing 2 peanuts to be consumed per click. Only one squirrel was ever made available for purchase, making it the only shop upgrade with a single upgrade level. When Concessions opened at the beginning of Season 12, the Squirrel was not given a snack equivalent, and viewers who had not previously purchased a squirrel saw their consumption rates return to one peanut per click.
