Murphy was incinerated on Day 46 of Season 2 by a rogue umpire as a result of the Forbidden Book being opened at the end of Season 1. The Commissioner tweeted about Murphy shortly after, offering their "sincerest condolences to [Murphy's] family," and controversially adding that "more #heated blaseball action" was forthcoming. Murphy's family declined to comment, but fans expressed their outrage over the fiery double entendre on social media.
