Peanuts are a Decree that was introduced in Season Two. Very little is currently known about them, including whether or not they are edible. Their ominous nature draws many comparisons to The Forbidden Book, a similarly mysterious decree that was voted into effect at the end of Season One.
Peanuts are explicitly mentioned in section 5e of The Book of Blaseball, suggesting some significance related to the collection of one million of them.
