Nerd:

-he has gotten this reputation for being extremely smart (hence "professor doctor nerd pacheco") and universities just. keep giving him honorary degrees about things he is not an expert in. nerd is a total humanities/social science person but apparently has a degree in ?? physical geography ?? calculus ?? romantic arts ?? string performance ?? howw
- then he becomes an expert anyways because he doesn't like people thinking he's an expert when he Really Isn't.
- and he is so good at bluster when put on the spot that he says things when quizzed on a topic, and it turns out he's correct enough that nobody can question it? he just makes educated guesses which are always right and then learns the material afterwards out of shame
- nerd pacheco in a sweater and vest but their ripped muscles bulge and make the outfit look really tight and they look a bit choked up
- You know how teams have those "in case of emergency" books? Nerd wrote it. And it's two feet high. nagomi when the forbidden book was opened: "lmao you should see the one we've got at home". nerd, panicking: "oh nagomi good idea" *turns to "if demonic book is opened causing rift to consume your hometown"* - - Nagomi edited the emergency manual for Nerd, just being like "yeah, that tracks, this'll work, ooh. This part will result in 12 injuries. this part probably could be done in a better way, but it will be funny, so we'll keep it"
- keeps a list of degrees because he keeps forgetting
- "i've done so many things i've forgotten them and i was so anxious when doing it all that the details i've forgotten". remembers he wrote SOMETHING about How to Kill a God Without Poisoning The Milk It Resides In when he finds a brown lump in his cereal
Interactions with teammates:
- I feel like sandy, nerd, and hahn are active planners while nagomi is just like "it does not matter what you throw at me, im good". nagomi is the sleepy tired powerhouse. kanamori vibes. "Hmm? oh sorry boss I zoned out. You need me to play short stop? Dope, say less.". nagomi likes getting home runs because if she scores a home run she can just walk around the bases isntead of running
- is friends with Castillo, talks about fireproof hats with Miguel, philosophy with anyone
- when hendricks joined the team he immediately shook Nerd's hand like "Your correspondences in Economics Annual have been a delight" and nerd is like "why thank you" while screaming internally cuz he has no idea when he did this
- has learned to roll with punches from Hahn and sandy
- nerd: what is that? Hurting it might anger a god
Sandy: hey I hit it and cut off a chunk
Nerd: sigh OK it's corporeal let me get the backup chainsaw I stashed around here
- cares about his friends and tries to do things 100%. Someone mentions a passing movie they like? Nerd spends 5 hours researching their influences and coming up with recommendation lists
